No one was more pleased than this ex-prom queen to witness the transformations at this year's American Music Awards.

When one thinks of Country Girls, one often conjures up an image or two of big fluffy hair to match the big voices these talented ladies possess.

Not this year.

This year it was all about sleek.

Take Taylor Swift. She rocked last years CMAs by taking home all the prizes. But this year she rocked just by being there with her new sleek paper straight look.

Now even though we are used to Taylor as being our mentor when it comes to curly romantic hairstyles, we must say we really really love her change-over to straight hair. It gives her a new dimension, don't you think?

A. One of the few photos I've found showing Jessica in straight hair. Somehow, she reminds me of a younger Angelina Jolie.

B. Here Jessica lets her wavy tendrils tumble across her shoulders. This is a style that Jessica seems to prefer for casual wear, but we also see her wearing her hair this way for many formal events.

C. This red-carpet updo makes Jessica appear more sophisticated and elegant. It seems to bring out her womanliness
